I know. I realize that the blog title and my image appear completely unrelated, contradictory even; but ironically, so does the idea of a Black Republican.
Before you judge me, I want you to answer a question. And if you're brave enough, write your answer in the comments below.
How did you choose your political affiliation (Democrat or Republican)?
I have to admit, when I first registered to vote, I chose my political affiliation the same way I chose my religious affiliation. How did you choose yours?
There is something dangerously wrong with that, I think, how about you? Let's talk about it!
If you care to hear, I'll be sharing why and how I became a Black Republican with my friends and acquaintances from China, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Serbia. I'd love to hear why and how you chose your political and religious affiliations. Next Saturday July 18, 2020 via Zoom
While you ponder the answers to those questions, consider this, if we only limit our experiences to those with whom we are most alike, we significantly restrict our ability to connect with, and therefore, empathize with others. Let's connect next Saturday July 18, 2020 on Zoom. Please join in or host a Zoom discussion. #ChangeTheNarrative
